This morning when I had my back turned Drake got in our pantry and pulled out a potato and tried to take a bite out of it. I thought it was so cute and called Ben to come downstairs and check it out. He got a bit of a panicked look on his face and told me to take it from him because eating raw potatoes could cause a fever. Is he pulling my leg or is this true?!? I have never heard of such a thing, but have been known to fall for some pretty far out stories before.
So tell me what you know about eating raw potatoes! Do they cause a fever or not?
That's so cute! I think that might be an old wives tale. I eat them all the time, and Lil' Dude chews on them and we've never had a problem.
ReplyDeleteIn fact, last week, I was in my room watching TV while he was playing, in what I thought was his room. Anyway, he comes in here and hands me a potato and runs away. So I go in the kitchen, and come to find out, he has "hidden" half a bag of potatoes. I still can't find them, but it was a new bag, and there was only half left. I find them in drawers and shelves, and one in the bathroom.
(sigh...)
I do know that the eyes of a potato are poisonous. But as far as eating a raw potato, I don't think so.
ReplyDeleteFound you from Ma, what's for dinner?
Hmmm, I don't know about that. Now I'm going to have to go research this. I'll get back to you!

Ha! I hate raw potatoes! I hope Echo finds all those hidden potatoes before they start to smell!
ReplyDeleteHappy SITS Sharefest!
i have no clue. i've never heard that one before. hmmm...
ReplyDeleteJust googled it, so funny that I think that is the answer to everything...the collective answer is that gnashing on a raw spud won't give you a fever. Now don't hold me to it, I've certainly never tried it...yuck!
ReplyDeleteSo cute that you got a picture!
Kids will really eat ANYthing! Hope you are having a great weekend, Katie!
That is so cute! I don't know if that's true or not. I've eaten them raw before and was OK, but maybe it is different for babies...
